Garden Party "Scouting’s Good Turn Award"

In 1909 a Chicago Publisher, William D. Boyce became lost in a thick fog while passing through London. He was approached by a boy who offered to help him. To Boyce’s astonishment, the boy would not accept a tip because he was doing his “Good Turn”.  This unselfish act of kindness and service to others launched a worldwide movement and serves as the foundation for this award. Sporting Clay at Red Wings in Port Republic

This unique fundraising event will help to ensure that over 6,000 young people in the Jersey Shore area continue to receive the best Scouting program possible. Loyal Buffalo Luncheon

Each year the Boy Scouts of America, Jersey Shore Council honors outstanding individuals from the council for their dedication and service. We recognize donors, units and local businesses by inviting them and their families to our Annual Loyal Buffalo Luncheon at Six Flags Great Adventure! For more information about this event please visit Loyal Buffalo.   

 

Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner

The Distinguished Citizen Award is presented annually to individuals who share Scouting’s belief in leadership, determination and values, and have contributed significantly to the growth and vitality in their local communities. Funds raised by the event support the delivery of youth leadership training and character development programs to more than 6,000 youth across Ocean and Atlantic Counties.

Scouters, and volunteers are making incredible contributions to their communities on a daily basis. With such remarkable individuals in our midst, the BSA recognizes their efforts while also saying ‘thank you’ for their service to the movement.
