Gather ‘round the campfire as we showcase our Lighthouse Awards and District Awards recipients. Cowboy George Agin and Cowgirl Gretchen Tunison are sure to rustle up a heap of fun!

So, “Saddle your pony, here we go! Off to the Scouting rodeo. Bring along spouses, friends and more, Join our district round-up!” (Mickey Mouse Club, c. 1950s).

The Lighthouse Award- The lighthouse award (pictured above) is an award supplied by the district and presented by the units to a volunteer within their unit that goes above and beyond the call of duty.  The lighthouse stands as a beacon and so should your award recipient.  Each unit is allowed to choose one adult scouter for the award.  The choice should be made by the unit committee, and not just the unit leader.   Unit supplies the name of the recipient, and the district supplies the award: a bolo with a lighthouse and a certificate.  Unit personnel are required to present the award, which is given at the district dinner.

Vittle Choices are as follows:

Roast Prime Rib

Herb Crusted Cod

Apricot/ Mustard Chicken

Crab Stuffed Shrimp

Vegetarian vittles are available upon request
