JOIN US FOR THE SCOUTING ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME!

 

On September 29th the Boy Scouts of America announced that the next National Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia July 19-28, 2023. More than just a gathering of Scouts, the Jamboree will provide High Adventure programming, a chance to meet Scouts from around the country, and so much more. Many of you have waited years for the opportunity to attend a Jamboree, and we are excited to offer a local contingent that will help you reach this Scouting milestone. We hope that you will consider joining with us as we plan and take part in a memorable Scouting adventure!

 

Youth Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have a current BSA membership
  • Be at least age 12 by the first day of the Jamboree but not reached their 18th birthday by the end of the Jamboree
  • Be approved by the Jersey Shore Council
  • Participate in the pre-Jamboree training experience with the Jersey Shore Council
  • Submit a BSA Annual Health and Medical record using the online Jamboree submission process. Must be dated on or after July 1, 2022. 

Young Adult Eligibility Requirements (ages 18-20)

  • Must have a current BSA membership
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 20 by the first day of the Jamboree
  • Be approved by the Jersey Shore Council
  • Participate in the pre-Jamboree training experience with the Jersey Shore Council
  • Submit a BSA Annual Health and Medical record using the online Jamboree submission process. Must be dated on or after July 1, 2022.

 

Adult Eligibility Requirements

Adult Jamboree participants are selected by the Council Jamboree Committee after a review process and interview. Application does not guarantee selection as a Jamboree adult leader. An expectation of Jamboree leadership is that they will help actively recruit youth participants to fill contingent spaces. Adults should only submit application until selected then payment can begin. 

  • Must have a current BSA membership in a local unit
  • All adult leaders must be at least age 21 by the first day of the Jamboree.
  • Scoutmaster adult positions are Scoutmaster, 1st, 2nd and 3rd assistant Scoutmaster
  • An optional unit adult position is Unit Care Giver. Should have a current healthcare license (MD, DO, APRN, RN, PA, Paramedic, EMT) or have Wilderness First Aid and CPR training. (one adult per troop)

  • Be approved by the Jersey Shore Council.
  • Scoutmaster and assistant scoutmaster applicants MUST be serving in any unit leadership position
  • All adult leaders must be current with Youth Protection Training
  • Scoutmaster applicants completed all required training for your registered position.
  • Participate and assist in planning/execution of the pre-Jamboree training experience.
  • Submit BSA medical record using the on-line Jamboree submission process. The AHMR must be dated after July 1, 2022.

 

 

Adult applications are due to the Council office no later than June 3, 2022

 

 

Initial Deposit to hold place: $400

There will be a payment plan provided when initial deposit has been made.

Total amount: $2200 due by May 31, 2023
